The Margao Municipal Council (MMC), a civic body of Goa, India, has issued a notice inviting bids for the supply and installation of solar 4G CCTV cameras. These cameras were planned for identified black spots across the town. MMC chairperson Damodar Shirodkar had announced that CCTV cameras would be operational at 16 locations before Ganesh Chaturthi. The selected vendors were required to install and configure equipment, including network video recorders, hard disk drives, and routers. MMC sources said that solar-powered 4G technology would help maintain surveillance even in areas without conventional power. Interested parties were asked to submit sealed quotations by July 15. The bids were scheduled to open the same day at the municipality office. An MMC official said the cameras would assist in monitoring vulnerable spots and improving the city’s security.
