India headquartered LNK Energy has announced its launch as an integrated clean energy platform, with plans to invest INR 10,000 crore (~ $1.10 billion) over the next five years. The company unveiled its first project is a 6 GW solar cell and module manufacturing facility with integrated ingot and wafer production. The facility is planned across more than 60 acres at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar in Maharashtra. LNK Energy has also signed memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government for the project. The company said the plant will manufacture high-efficiency solar cells and modules using advanced manufacturing technologies. They also added that the facility may later expand into components such as junction boxes, battery platforms and energy storage systems. Beyond manufacturing, LNK Energy said it plans to enter green fuels, including green hydrogen.
