Jakson Engineers Ltd, an India-based energy solutions provider, has signed a technology contract with Ecoprogetti SRL. Ecoprogetti SRL, an Italy-based PV recycling technology provider, has supplied advanced module processing systems. According to Jakson Engineers Ltd, the agreement has enabled establishment of India’s first hi-tech PV module recycling plant. The facility has been designed to recycle about 300 MW of photovoltaic modules annually. This capacity has translated into processing more than 500,000 end-of-life solar modules each year. As per Ecoprogetti SRL, the recycling line is operated at a speed of 60 panels per hour. The system has handled nearly 1.62 tonnes of material per hour and over 13,500 tonnes annually. Jakson Engineers Ltd said that recovered outputs have included aluminium, glass, silicon, copper, and silver, supporting domestic material reuse.
