Rajasthan public sector company, Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited has issued an order on 20 February 2026 allowing hybrid inverters for rooftop solar systems. The move reflects rising renewable integration and the growing need for grid stability, peak load management and improved power quality. The order recognizes Battery Energy Storage Systems as important for managing intermittency and strengthening distribution networks. As per MNRE guidelines, rooftop systems may include components such as battery storage, small wind hybrids and solar trackers, while CFA will be calculated based on installed solar module capacity. The RERC Third Amendment Regulations, 2025 consider BESS part of the renewable generating system. Consumers installing hybrid inverters under Net Metering, GNM or VNM are permitted, subject to safety standards under JPR5-1219.
