The International Solar Alliance (ISA) worked on promoting integrated photovoltaics technology to help buildings produce solar power and cut emissions, Director General Ashish Khanna said at the 17th GRIHA Summit in New Delhi. He said cities used over 70 percent of global electricity and created most emissions. Khanna added that Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) could turn roofs and walls into power sources, which is especially useful for developing countries with limited land.He stated that ISA aimed to make BIPV a mainstream tool for climate-resilient urban growth and was preparing to launch a ‘BIPV in Action’ case study compendium and a BIPV Guidebook at COP30 to support design, certification, and policy integration.
