Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy released INR 7,106 crore(~ $860 million) under PM KUSUM as per a written reply by Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik, which was submitted to the Lok Sabha. The minister said that total installed capacity under all scheme components has reached 10,203 MW nationwide, covering decentralised plants, off-grid pumps and feeder-level solarisation. He added that PM KUSUM is a demand-driven scheme allowing participation from farmers, FPOs(Farmer Producer Organisations),WUAs(Water User Associations) and PACS(Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) across India. The ministry has undertaken several steps to simplify procedures, which were intended to improve scheme accessibility and strengthen deployment across agricultural regions.
