India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has reported that the PLI(Production-Linked Incentive) Schemefor High Efficiency Solar PV Modules. The Scheme was backed by an outlay of INR 24,000 crore and supported Letters of Award for 48.3 GW of integrated and partial-integration capacity. The ministry stated that the scheme has created about 43,000 jobs across nine states as of October 2025. Gujarat was listed as the largest contributor, with over 22,400 jobs driven by projects from Reliance Industries and Adani New Industries. Tamil Nadu followed with about 6,800 jobs generated by FS India Solar Ventures, VSL Green Power and TP Solar. Additional employment has come from multi-location facilities developed by ReNew Photovoltaics, Grew Energy and Avaada Electro. The ministry noted that India’s installed solar module capacity reached 121.68 GW under the November 2025 ALMM update.
