JMK Research & Analytics has reported that India added 34.4 GW of renewable capacity during January–September 2025. Solar has contributed 29,466 MW, while wind has added 4,959 MW in the same period. Cumulative renewable capacity has increased to almost 247.3 GW as September added 4,647 MW, sustaining August’s momentum. Rajasthan has added the largest utility-scale solar with close to 1.36 GW, followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka. Uttar Pradesh with 243.6 MW has provided the most significant rooftop gains, while Karnataka added 208.8 MW and Gujarat 138.2 MW contributing to wind capacity growth. JMK Research has pointed out that solar continues to dominate state-wise additions.

According to JMK Research, India added 29,466 MW of solar and 4,959 MW of wind in Jan–Sep 2025, lifting total RE capacity to 247.3 GW with steady monthly progress.
