India's Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd (GIPCL) has commissioned the fifth phase of its solar project at Khavda in Gujarat, raising its total commissioned capacity to 600 MW. The last phase added 135 MW of solar capacity within the 2.375 GW Renewable Energy Park at Khavda. The information was shared through a regulatory filing with the stock exchanges. In January 2024, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Gujarat to develop the 2.375 GW Khavda renewable energy park and 1.1 GW of solar projects at the site. Later, the Government of Gujarat has allocated 4,750 hectares of land in the Khavda Hybrid Renewable Energy Park for development of a 2.375 GW solar, wind and hybrid renewable energy project.

A stock exchange filing confirmed that Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd has brought total commissioned capacity at its Khavda solar project to 600 MW.
