Goldi Solar, India-based PV manufacturer, has operated three solar module manufacturing facilities near Surat with a combined installed capacity of 15.2 GW. According to Goldi Solar, the company has been preparing draft plans to add around 5 GW of new module capacity over the next two financial years to support domestic demand. Goldi Solar has also been in the process of setting up 1.2 GW of cell manufacturing capacity while planning a further 16 GW of cell capacity by FY 28 to strengthen backward integration into bifacial TOPCon N-type solar modules. As per the company, the expansion has aligned with ALMM requirements under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and has been linked to rising domestic installations driven by programs such as PM Surya Ghar. Industry estimates have indicated that establishing 1 MW of module capacity has required investment of around INR 5–7 crore(~ $ 0.60–0.84 million).
