India-headquartered Gensol Engineering, a clean energy solution, has commissioned a ground-mounted solar power plant in Panchet, Dhanbad district, Jharkhand. The INR 40 crore (~$4.61 million) EPC project covered 40 acres and included five years of operations and maintenance. The plant was designed to generate over 15 million units of electricity annually. It faced complex terrain conditions, including loose soil, hard rock, and mining-affected land. Gensol has used advanced mounting systems and high-efficiency PV modules to address these challenges. The project was expected to offset 21,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions per year and contribute to Jharkhand’s energy goals. Recently Scorpius Trackers' US operations were also planned for divestment at INR 350 crore by Gensol Engineering.
