Indian solar manufacturer Fujiyama Power Systems has announced commissioning of a 1 GW solar cell manufacturing plant at Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. The manufacturing facility has been completed with a total investment of INR 300 crore, funded through internal accruals and debt. Solar cells are key components used in solar panel production, and the government is encouraging domestic cell manufacturing to reduce import dependence. The company currently operates a total 1.6 GW solar panel manufacturing capacity, of which 1.2 GW is located at Dadri. The newly added 1 GW solar cell capacity will be utilized entirely for captive consumption. The project has been completed in six months and will manufacture mono PERC DCR series solar cells. The production will align with domestic content requirement norms applicable to subsidy-linked solar demand.
