India based Essens Renewable Private Limited has secured a 400 MW solar PV project in Rajasthan. The company, formerly known as RWE Solar India and Belectric Photovoltaic India Pvt Ltd, will develop the ground-mounted project with a fixed tilt configuration. The project represents the largest single-location project awarded to the company by a private independent power producer. With this addition, Essens Renewable is progressing toward a cumulative installed capacity milestone of 3 GW. Rajasthan remains one of India’s key solar development regions due to its high solar irradiation and available land. The project contributes to the expansion of utility-scale solar capacity in India’s renewable energy market.
