ENGIE, a global energy company, has secured a 100 MW solar project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in Barmer, Rajasthan.The facility is located in one of India’s highest solar irradiance zones and is scheduled for commissioning in 2027.This will expand ENGIE’s portfolio in Rajasthan to nearly 1 GW. According to ENGIE, the power purchase agreement with SECI aligns with its plan to deliver dependable renewable power across India. The company’s current portfolio includes 2.5 GW of renewable capacity across seven states, featuring major projects such as the 200 MW Raghnesda plant in Gujarat and the 250 MW Kadapa project in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting its consistent progress in India’s solar energy sector.
