The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), India’s premier military R&D agency, has signed an MoU with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The agreement aims to set up 300 MW of solar power projects at DRDO sites across India. The initiative is to make DRDO campuses self-reliant and achieve net-zero status by 2027. Earlier, DRDO, in collaboration with the Integrated Defence Staff and the Tri-Services, has released the Indian Radio Software Architecture (IRSA) standard 1.0 to enable interoperability in military communication. IRSA defined standardised interfaces, APIs, execution environments and waveform portability mechanisms for Software Defined Radios, supporting indigenous and interoperable defence communication technologies.
