Delhi government has announced a plan to install solar panels on 1,000 government buildings to generate 55 MW of electricity. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a 25 KW installation at Rithala sewage treatment plant, marking the launch. The full rooftop programme was scheduled for completion by January next year through phased surveys, retrofits, and grid connections. Gupta also laid the foundation stone for a TPDDL power grid project. The administration focused on waste management, noting Delhi generates 11,000–12,000 tons of solid waste daily, with about 7,000 tons processed. Work began on waste-to-energy and biogas facilities, along with an e-waste plant atTehkhand. Plans also included procurement of 3,000 electric buses to cut vehicular pollution and create jobs.
