The Commission stated that CESC Limited did not follow competitive bidding guidelines under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, specifically by failing to obtain prior approval from the central government for deviations in the bidding process. CESC(Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation) Limited had issued a tender on November 8, 2024, for 150 MW of hybrid power with an additional 150 MW optionand conducted an e-reverse auction on December 27, 2024. Purvah Green Power Private Limited was selected as the bidder for the full 300 MW capacity.
