Government of India enterprise, Central Electronics Limited (CEL) has announced plans to build a 4.125 MW (AC) grid-connected solar photovoltaic plant at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in West Bengal. The scope includes design, engineering, supply of balance-of-system components, procurement, installation and commissioning of the solar plant within the campus. CEL issued a tender for the project on December 23, 2025, requiring two-packet bids comprising technical and online price submissions. Bidders were required to submit an earnest money deposit of INR 3.6 million (~$ 40063.47) and provide a performance bank guarantee equal to 5% of the contract value. Bid submission has opened on December 23, 2025, with the deadline set for January 10, 2026 and technical bids scheduled to be opened the same day.
