Bihar administration has launched its Renewable Energy Policy 2025 to attract clean energy investments. The policy targets 24 GW of green power capacity by April 2030 and covers solar, wind, biomass, green hydrogen, and storage systems, including 4,500 MWh of battery and 1,600 MWh of pumped hydro. Capacity expansion is supported through incentives that exceed those in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu. These include 100% exemption on electricity duty, SGST, and transmission charges for 15 years. To address land acquisition challenges, the policy provides stamp duty waivers, land conversion reimbursements, and concessional land for early EV charging stations. Projects will receive long-term open access, while manufacturers are offered duty exemptions, SGST subsidies, and priority land allotment.
