Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, an India-based oil marketing and refining company, has commissioned a 71 MW (DC) / 52 MW (AC) solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh, India. The project was virtually commissioned by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri during India Energy Week. The Prayagraj solar facility spans 210 acres and has been developed using 1.29 lakh solar modules. Grid connectivity has been established through a 132 kV transmission line for electricity evacuation. The plant is expected to generate approximately 103.61 million units of electricity annually. Annual carbon emissions are projected to be reduced by 75,150 metric tonnes. The electricity generated from the Prayagraj solar plant is being supplied to BPCL refineries in Mumbai, Bina and Kochi.
BPCL commissions 71 MW solar plant in India
During India Energy Week, a 71 MW PV power plant at Prayagraj has been commissioned by BPCL and is projected to reduce 75,150 metric tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
