Mumbai-based Avaada Group has commissioned 11 solar projects totaling 35 MW in Yavatmal, Maharashtra, under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0. The projects are spread across Kinhi, Baldi, Dongarkharda, Bansi, Patan, Mhasola, Galwa, Pathrad, Parjana, Sawargaon, and Sarfali. They are expected to benefit nearly 14,900 farmers in 167 villages. Farmers receive reliable daytime electricity for irrigation, reduced costs, and additional lease income. The programme also lowers accident risks associated with night irrigation practices. Avaada is implementing over 1,132 MW of projects under MSKVY 2.0 across districts including Nashik, Pune, Sangli, Ahmednagar, and Beed. Launched in 2017 and upgraded later, the scheme targets solarisation of 30 percent of agricultural feeders through nearly 7,000 MW of decentralised projects. It reduces subsidy burdens for discoms and cuts Maharashtra’s dependence on fossil fuels.
