Andhra Pradesh’s government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has prioritised solar additions during an energy sector review. Naidu has proposed rooftop systems on 483 government buildings are expected to produce 150 MW, with further capacity planned under national programmes. AP-Genco, an India-based generation utility, was asked to coordinate progress under PM-KUSUM, which has targeted 4,792 MW for the State.
