Tripura government, an India-based state authority overseeing public administration, has initiated a 304 kW rooftop PV programme across eight District Magistrate offices under Solar Sankalp guidelines. The rollout has commenced with commissioning of a 15 kW grid-connected rooftop PV system at the Gomati District Magistrate’s office in Agartala. Planned installations include 49 kW in Sepahijala, 35 kW in South Tripura and 90 kW in North Tripura under the same programme framework. Additional capacities comprise 15 kW in Khowai, 22 kW in Unakoti, 25 kW in Dhalai and 53 kW in West Tripura. The total estimated cost of the 304 kW rooftop PV programme across eight District Magistrate offices is INR 2.43 crore (~ $265,551), and TSECL has been entrusted with construction, testing and grid synchronisation responsibilities. These grid-connected rooftop PV systems are configured to enable on-site electricity consumption while surplus generation is exported through net metering.
