Iberdrola has partnered with IB Vogt for the 245 MW Fenix PV project in Sicily, potentially expanding to 305 MW. The project is set to become Italy’s largest under construction and will begin construction in March. With 424,638 PV modules, Fenix is expected to produce 400 GWh annually, reducing co2 emissions by 119,000 tons. The venture is anticipated to employ 500 workers during construction and over 100 permanently. Iberdrola’s broader strategy aims at 400 MW installed capacity in Italy by early 2025, contributing to its global 5 GW renewable portfolio for 2030 and 2035 targets.
