France-based Voltalia has announced that its subsidiary, Helexia, has commissioned 28 new solar rooftops in Romania, totaling 12.8 MW of installed capacity. According to Voltalia, the solar installations are located on 16 Auchan Retail and 12 Leroy Merlin stores. These systems are projected to generate over 14 GWh annually, meeting around 20-30% of each store’s energy needs. The company claims this will reduce CO2 emissions by over 8,000 tons per year while significantly lowering energy expenses. The 63,000 square meter area hosts 27,000 PV panels, equivalent to nine soccer fields. Voltalia highlights that Helexia manages the development, construction, and maintenance of these projects, providing comprehensive solar solutions in Romania and beyond.
