GuarantCo, a part of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), has stepped in with a $27 million guarantee to support Africa GreenCo's renewable energy initiatives in Southern Africa. This unique guarantee arrangement is tailored to assist Independent Power Projects (IPPs), ensuring Africa GreenCo meets its financial commitments to these vital energy providers. The guarantee is expected to unlock up to $270 million in private sector investments for IPPs, potentially adding 200MW to 300MW of renewable energy capacity to the region.
