Grenergy and BYD partner for 1.1 GWh energy storage in Oasis de Atacama project

Spanish renewables firm Grenergy has entered a strategic agreement with BYD for 1.1 GWh energy storage systems, enhancing its Oasis de Atacama project. BYD will supply 2,136 MC Cube ESS devices, featuring Blade batteries, for the world’s largest storage initiative with a 4.1 GWh capacity. The collaboration aligns with Grenergy’s growth plan, reflecting a €800 million investment in energy storage. The Oasis de Atacama’s first phase is set for 2024 operation.
