ACWA Power, a Saudi Arabia–based power and water developer, announced a Joint Development Agreement with Bapco Energies, a Bahrain-based integrated energy company. This agreement is made during the Saudi–Bahraini Coordination Council meeting in December 2025. The companies said the agreement is intended to jointly develop a solar project in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The planned project is expected to reach up to 2.8 GW through multiple phases. Bapco Energies stated that all generated electricity is expected to be transmitted to its national load center in Bahrain. The companies noted that the project has supported Bahrain’s National Energy Strategy by contributing to supply diversification. The agreement has also outlined cross-border clean energy flow within the GCC region.
