GCL SI and Ocean Sun collaborate for 270 kW FPV demo-project 

GCL SI and Ocean Sun recently commissioned a 270 kW a demonstration floating solar project called BOOST at La Palma’s Tazacorte port.  Since 2018, both companies collaborated closely to develop tailored PV modules, especially for Ocean Sun’s membrane based floating solar solution, subjected to rigorous testing with TÜV Rheinland. GCL supported the project by supply tailor made GCL MS/60GT Ocean Sun modules featuring junction box on to the front that enables optimal contact with Ocean Sun’s membrane, effectively reducing operating temperatures and significantly increasing overall system power output. The frameless module design also said to save on aluminium by about 10%.
