Frontgrade unveils SADA-150 solar array drive
US-based Frontgrade Technologies has introduced the SADA-150, a solar array drive assembly designed for space missions, ranging from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Geostationary Equatorial Orbit (GEO) and beyond. The SADA-150 enhances energy efficiency by accurately positioning solar panels onboard spacecraft, ensuring a reliable power supply for critical missions. Currently, this system is operational on spacecraft in deep space, including Mars missions, proving its durability and reliability. Frontgrade says the SADA-150 undergoes rigorous testing, including shock, vibration, and temperature stress, to meet the most stringent space mission requirements. The system has an inertial capability of 150 kg-m2 and features custom–designed features like a harmonic gear reduction assembly, output position potentiometer, and space-grade twist capsule or slip ring assembly.
