Fraunhofer ISE has produced a TOPCon solar cell with 24% efficiency in the M10 format as presented at the 20th Photovoltaic Technology Advisory Board Meeting. The large-format TOPCon solar cell features a 120 µm thin design with screen-printed contact fingers and copper electroplating for metallization. Calibration was done at the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hameln's CalTeC. Achieving 24% efficiency with this batch indicates the potential to exceed 25% with further optimizations.
