First Solar and Cleantech Solar ink a 15-year PPA, wherein Cleantech will build 150 MW of PV and 16.8 MW of wind assets in Tamil Nadu, India. The facilities, operational by Q3 2024, aim to fulfill 70% of First Solar’s new 3.3 GW solar manufacturing facility's electricity needs, cutting 7,000 kilotons of CO2. Cleantech will source 150 MW of Series 7 thin film solar panels from First Solar for the project, expected to be delivered in H1 2024.
