Ferrovial acquires a 257 MWdc PV project in Texas

Ferrovial, a global infrastructure company, has acquired a 257 MWdc PV plant in Leon County, Texas. The project is estimated to produce approx. 475 GWh annually, supplying electricity to over 36,000 homes. This is company’s first investment in a renewable energy project in the United States. The company invests $ 72 million in this Texas project and is expected to create over 400 jobs during the construction phase. The plant is set to begin in this quarter and to start generating power by 2026. The project expected to avoid the emission of over 195,000 tons of CO2 each year. In a separate project in Texas, Ferrovial is building a 72 MW PV plant with a 60 MW battery energy storage system in Houston for X-Elio.
