EWA seeks bids for 44 MW solar power plant at Bahrain University

The Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has issued a tender for the establishment of a 44 MW PV power plant at the University of Bahrain (UOB) campus. This plant aims to generate approximately 75 GWh of electricity annually. The project will follow a turnkey model, encompassing engineering, design, manufacturing, material supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and civil and electromechanical works. The tender requires an initial bond of BD 5,000(~$13,250), with bid and bond validity set at 180 days. The contract will span two years, and alternative bids are permitted. The tender was published on November 7, 2024, and tender documents must be purchased by November 21, 2024, for a fee of BD 100 (~$265). The bid submission deadline is December 1, 2024, with an opening date scheduled for December 2, 2024.
