Estonian energy company, Evecon and Mirova, a sustainable finance asset manager, have launched PVpark in the Baltics, located in Kirikmäe, Pärnu County, Estonia. The park spans 110 hectares and has a production capacity of 77.53 MW, more than doubling the capacity of the largest existing solar park in the country. The facility is expected to meet the energy needs of approximately 35,000 households annually. The project was completed in six months by Wiso Engineering, with 250 workers involving in the construction. The Kirikmäe solar park, which features 117,600 Canadian Solar panels, is owned by the Baltic Renewable Energy Platform (BREP), a joint venture between Evecon and Mirova. It is part of a broader plan to expand Estonia’s renewable energy capacity by more than 100 MW.
