European Energy is building Sweden’s inaugural large-scale hybrid park in Skåramåla, Tingsryd municipality, merging an existing wind farm with a new solar park. The hybrid facility aims to generate 163 GWh of green electricity annually, powering approximately 32,600 households with 38 GWh coming from the solar park. The solar park, spanning 49 hectares, has been in preparation for months, engaging local subcontractors for groundwork. Planned as a temporary installation, the solar park will return the land to forestry or alternative uses after roughly 35 years. European Energy says it is committed to enhancing biodiversity through multiple measures. The next phase involves installing the solar panels in spring, with the project slated for completion in 2024 and full grid electricity production expected by year-end.
