US-based Enphase Energy’s IQ8 Microinverters have been deployed in a 2.2 MW solar project at Belgoprocess’s radioactive waste facility in Dessel, Belgium. The project, managed by Earth, involves the installation of 4,000 IQ8HC Microinverters, which, according to Earth, feature low-voltage AC-based architecture and panel-level monitoring capabilities. Belgoprocess, an organization specializing in radioactive waste management and nuclear facility decommissioning, plans to expand the solar capacity to 6–8 MW by 2026. The distributed architecture ensures enhanced safety by converting DC to AC at the source and allows detailed energy performance tracking at the panel level, says Earth.
