Enel Green Power's 3Sun gigafactory in Catania, Sicily, has secured a €560 million financial package, led by UniCredit, BPER Banca, and Banco BPM, with EIB support. The gigafactory aims to expand its photovoltaic production capacity from 200 MW to 3 GW by 2024, becoming the largest solar facility in Europe. The funding, backed by SACE and InvestEU, aligns with the REPowerEU mission, contributing to the EU's goal of 600 GW solar energy by 2030.
