Enel Green Power has established the largest operating solar farm in northern Italy at Trino, Piedmont. The site, historically significant for its nuclear and combined cycle power plants, now features 160,000 photovoltaic panels producing 87 MW, which equates to 130 GWh annually. This green energy supports 47,000 households, reduces 56,000 tons of CO2 emissions, and saves 29 million cubic meters of gas each year. The farm employs bifacial modules and a 25 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a 100 MWh capacity to ensure grid stability. Future plans include a larger storage system. Enel Green Power invests over 12 billion euros globally in renewable energy, aiming to achieve 82% emission-free electricity by Q1 2024.
