Emerge, a joint venture between Masdar and EDF Group, has secured an agreement to install a 980 kW rooftop solar plant at Dubai Maritime City, expected to offset 780 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This initiative aligns with DP World’s broader energy transition strategy, promoting renewable energy and storage across its global supply chain. Located atop the staff accommodation building, the plant comprises over 1,700 solar modules. Emerge will manage the project comprehensively, covering finance, design, construction, and maintenance for 25 years. Established in 2021, Emerge specializes in distributed solar, storage, and hybrid solutions for commercial and industrial sectors. Rooftop solar PV is anticipated to contribute around 6% of the UAE’s total power generation by 2030, as per the International Renewable Energy Agency’s REmap 2030 report.
