Zelestra, a Spain-based renewable energy company focused on solar and battery storage development, has secured a contract in Italy’s second Fonti EnergeticheRinnovabili X (FER X) auction. The contract has covered a solar project of up to 108 MW in Sicily, which is the company’s largest solar project developed in Italy. According to the company, the Sicily award has followed contracts for eight solar projects totaling about 60 MW secured earlier. Both auction results were achieved in December 2025, reflecting readiness of multiple projects submitted under FER X, Italy’s renewable energy auction mechanism. Italy has remained one of Zelestra’s fastest growing markets, where the company has built a combined solar and battery portfolio exceeding 1.4 GW.
