The Zambian Government, through the Ministry of Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Longi Solar Technology and Sino Green Technology. The agreement covered cooperation on renewable energy projects across Zambia. The agreement covered the development of a 100 MW pilot solar power plant in Itezhi-Tezhi District which is scheduled to commence in April 2026. Each plant was expected to take eight to ten months to complete, alongside additional projects nationwide. The MoU is signed by Engineer Arnold Simwaba for the Government and James Jin for the partner companies, following President Hakainde Hichilema’s 2025 visit to China. The partners planned to deliver up to 1 GW of cumulative solar capacity under the framework.
