Websol Energy System, a Kolkata-based manufacturer of solar cells and modules, has signed an MoU with Linton Crystal Technologies, a US-based CZ furnace supplier. The MoU is to examine PV ingot and wafer production in India. According to Websol Energy System, the plan involves purchasing ingot-wafer equipment from Linton, while Linton provides technical expertise and structured training for its team. Websol Energy System said that the initiative has aimed to reduce dependence on imported upstream materials and strengthen its technology capability. Linton Crystal Technologies noted that its CZ systems are widely used for photovoltaic crystal growth. Websol Energy System currently operates mono PERC cell and module lines in the Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal.
