Masdar, an Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy developer, has stated that the President of Uzbekistan inaugurated the Nur Bukhara project as the nation’s first utility-scale integrated solar and battery facility.This event was followed by the groundbreaking of Masdar’s 300 MW solar and 75 MWh battery Guzar project that is scheduled for 2027. Masdar said that senior officials also witnessed the exchange of investment, transmission and battery agreements for the Zarafshan BESS project, which was described as Uzbekistan’s largest standalone battery system. Masdar added that a development roadmap for a 1,000 MW wind project in the Navoiy region was presented as the first phase of a wider 2,000 MW program.
