Uniper and Innova has announced that the Lower Farm solar project has received a government Contract for Difference under Allocation Round 7a, which provides a fixed, inflation-linked power price. The project is located in Stafford and has been designed to generate 46.5 MW of solar capacity and also supported by 30 MW battery energy storage system on site. Planning consent was granted by Stafford Borough Council in 2025 following an application submitted by Innova. Uniper, which owns the project, planning to begin construction in 2027 subject to a final investment decision. Once operational, the facility is expected to supply electricity to approximately 20,200 UK homes annually.
