Tigo Energy, a US-based provider of PV and energy software solutions, has received Romanian grid certification for its EI Residential PV and storage solution, enabling deployment in the country’s residential market. The approval followed grid-compliance and certification procedures with Romanian distribution system operators, including Distribuție Energie Electrică România, Distribuție Oltenia, and Rețele Electrice. According to the company, both single-phase and three-phase configurations of the EI Residential system are now fully approved and listed for use in Romania. The country has added approximately 2.2 GW of new solar capacity during 2025. Romania’s total installed solar capacity is projected to exceed 10 GW by 2030. Tigo Energy has noted that the certification is aligned with growing residential PV and storage capacity and regulatory grid-connection developments in Romania under its National Energy and Climate Plan. Recently, Tigo Energy has added Dynamic Rate Management to its EI residential systems in Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands.
