China-based manufacturer of PV inverters and ESS, Sungrow has announced plans to establish its first European manufacturing facility in Poland. The project represents an investment of €230 million (~ $273.7 million) and will involve construction of a 65,400 sq mts factory. According to the announcement the facility is scheduled to become operational within the next 12 months. The factory has been designed to support large-scale manufacturing of PV inverters and ESS. Sungrow has stated that the fab will have an annual production capacity of up to 20 GW of inverters and 12.5 GWh of ESS. The company also reported that the manufacturing facility is expected to create 400 jobs in the region. Sungrow has indicated that the new factory will support manufacturing and logistics for European markets and also forms part of its broader operational expansion across Europe.
