Sterling & Wilson Renewable Energy Limited(SWREL), a Mumbai-based EPC contractor, announced that it won a turnkey contract for a 240 MW AC solar PV project in South Africa valued at USD 147 million. This marks the company’s second international award from the country in the current fiscal year. The company said it is now working on four solar PV projects with four developers in the South African market. Two projects awarded last fiscal are progressing toward completion, while two additional wins in the past two months reflect growing activity in the region. Sterling & Wilson attributed the rising opportunities to increasing corporate demand, lower system costs, and strengthening requirements for grid-stability.
