Sonnedix, a London-headquartered renewable power producer, has signed a long-term Guarantees of Origin supply agreement with VW Kraftwerk GmbH, a Wolfsburg-based Volkswagen Group energy subsidiary. Under the agreement, Sonnedix will deliver 104 GWh of certified renewable electricity attributes annually for 10 years. According to Sonnedix, the Guarantees of Origin have been sourced from the 150 MW Covatillas solar complex in Cuenca, commissioned in June 2025. The Covatillas complex spans Minglanilla, Graja de Iniesta, and Puebla del Salvador and comprises multiple utility-scale plants. As per Sonnedix, the certified volume has matched electricity demand of about 25,000 households annually. The supply has corresponded to avoiding nearly 37,000 tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions each year. Sonnedix stated that the transaction marked its first long-term Guarantees of Origin sales agreement.
