Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente, a Spain-based renewable energy company, has received a favourable Environmental Impact Statement for an 81 MW PV facility in Italy. The Palermo I PV project has completed one of the final administrative requirements before construction. This approval has placed the facility in its last permitting stage and has allowed preparatory construction activities to move forward, with operations scheduled for 2027. The PV facility will be connected to an existing electricity substation, which has been identified as a measure to reduce execution timelines and improve development efficiency. The clearance adds to Solaria’s authorised assets in Italy, including the 146 MW Garaguso PV plant and several smaller facilities. With these approvals, the company’s ready-to-build PV capacity in Italy has reached approximately 300 MW. Solaria is also advancing the Spinazzola cluster, where more than 600 MW of PV capacity remains under development.
